Oil changes on BMW's are easy and can be done by just about any one including DIY'ers. There are a lot of links out there on how to do it and resetting the indicator can be done with an electrical tool or wire. I recommend synthetic oil as your car should have come with it.
You can bring it anywhere reputable it wont matter, you're under no obligation to use a BMW dealer... But you can do it yourself for a little fun, and to save some money. As for the indicator reset, you can ask or possibly get the tool yourself.
