Just got my Blizzacks taken off last week and had the summer tires put back on. Ever since, I've noticed something rattling in or near the back right tire. I figured there was a valve stem rolling around in there or something, so I took it back to the shop today. Turns out that my coil spring was snapped in half!

Another $400 down the drain. BMW parts aren't cheap.

Oh well...happy 4/20! [drinking]

Cheer up. I had fault values pertaining to O2 over limits and misfires on 3 of 6 cylinders.
Repaced all 4 O2 sensors (cost: 175.00 at one dealership in detroit, 146.00 for the other three at two other dealerships here in detroit. Believe i clean out the dealer supply. Also put new Bosch Plus 4's in. Got rid of the fault codes but the car still doesn't idle right.

Now have it at German Works in Troy, MI. Will get the bad news following a compression test, leak test and some form of another test.

My bet is a burnt valve, but will know Thursday. Can you envision what a valve job will cost? $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

Keep the faith, someone can always beat your problems.

Cheers,

FYI. My problem is not the valves[clap]

Come to find out that there is a diaphram in the intake manifold that has the tendency to blow out. Thus the rough idle as the engine is sucking air thru it. Why such an item that has a history of failure, albiet infrequently, is a part of this system is [werd]

Anyhow, cost of replacing the diaphram is mucho less than a valve job. [rolleyes]

Cheers,
