I hit a racoon and lost some of the hard plastic from underneath my front bumper, right in front of the front passenger tire, the piece with the little mud flap, and them one or two other pieces that face the ground in that corner of my bumper, is there any place to go for these other than dealer, and what are they refered to as, my car is a 2000 528i. thanks

I am missing the same pieces I think....it is the part that has the Temp. sensor on it right?
Anyway here in Germany that front corner piece(just that corner mind you) cost 68Euros!!!!
I dont know any place online that sells OEM parts like that....not those parts in particular at least.....

Thanks for the compliment, but there are many here that know a whole lot more than I.

I have never owned a 5'er, but would love to. I am not too sure what part you guys are needing. Have you looked in the "General Car Chat" section under the BMW Parts catalouge? See if you can find the part threre and refer us to a photo or the part number. Some parts like that can be bought at other suppliers like Pelican Parts, however I got some nice trim pieces for my 750 years ago from an online wrecking yard. I would get the part numbers and call Pelican Parts because if they don't have it they will know where to get it. Sorry I am not much help, but thanks again for the faith in me.

Just a word of advice - Do not go to the dealer for body parts. They will probably want over $1500 for a bumper alone, and well over $500 just for trim... take big daddy's advice.

Trim doesnt cost $500 dollars not even in Germany(at least for an E39)...bumper from BMW is a totally different story and much better quality than 90% of the aftermarket stuff.....

@Big Daddy
The part he is talking about is the plastic underbody cover on many of the newer BMW's. It comes in 4 or 5 different interconnecting pieces. One of these pieces has a door on it that opens to your Oil pan bolt as a matter of fact.......hope that helps you visualize what we mean....

Me myself WILL go to the BMW dealer as they will have the part right there on hand and I can afford it at the moment! [thumb]

When did I reccomend aftermarket parts?!? The trim around the bumper itself for my car is over $400 at the dealer. Why spend $1500+ for a bumper at the dealer when you can get the SAME THING from a wholesale parts place for $500 or less? No offense but that $1k would be a good bit of gas or something.

No offense Eric but I didnt say you said aftermarket parts either.......my point was FOR getting OEM parts...although my trunk spoiler and eyelids are not OEM...but for certain things OEM is the best...the bumper being one of those parts......just an add-on to your earlier point is all....RED Bimmers gotta stick together dude!
oh yeah the trim is a little more extensive on the E34's than on the E39's which are little more understated.....at least as it pertains to the M5 or M-facelift E39's....

I know oem parts are usually the best - and i have never bought aftermarket parts for either of my cars (cept the mark d. chip).

Stupid trim, and the sideskirts are another thing. The mtech sideskirts for my car are $480 a PIECE!! They are 4 feet long and weigh about 2 lbs, of PLASTIC!! [chair]
