pinging

I have a 94 325I with 60k . I put a Turner chip in and have switched
to 91 octane gas. I still notice some pinging when I leave from a stop light. [???1]
Any thoughts as to what might be causing this?
P.S.
I also put in new plugs.

I have 92 325i and put the Turner Chip in. I use 94 octane (sunoco), and haven't noticed any knock what so ever....try a tank or two of higher octane, and see if it goes away...What do you think of the performance difference??? Did you notice any difference in day to day driving?

I heard that E36s require 91 octane (might be wrong) and when you put in a chip you need to start using 93. Basically, with a chip you need ot use higher octane than regularly required by the car company.

u have sunoco readily available where you at? the only place around where i live is at the drag strip, up to 108 octane, or something like that. try using octane booster, normally i wouldnt say that, but if thats what it come to. a friend of mine had a '96 LT1 Camero w/ a procharger setup, that is what he ended up doing and it worked out alright.

As far as the chip is concerned, it is awesome. There is definitely a noticeable change in the
the performance. I just need to get some of these little annoyances worked out. How
do you like your upgrade

I have never used octane booster. Are they safe to use?
I do not have sunoco fuel in my area.

my friend drove his car like that for probably a year or so and he just sold it, ran like a champ though, ill ask him what he used.

BTW, he sold it because the cops were practically stalking him, not because it messed up his car. every time he left his house with it they threw another ticket at him, even if it was b/s or not, one faaaaast ass car
