POLL Re: Noisy Lifters

Lets make a poll to see how many members have had problems with noisy lifters. This might help us for future statistics and send results to BMW of North America so they resolve the problem for good.

The noise you are referring to is most likely fuel injectors not lifters. I have had no issues with this "common" noise on any of the five BMW's I have owned.

Hi Big Dady:

Sorry, I'm a certified mechanic and I know what is the noise of injectors and a bleeded lifter. Besides the problem is in the E90 Models.

We may be a certified mechanics, I too was a certified ASE mechanic one time in my life but they taught me nothing about BMW's. Regardless, what I was trying to say was that I have heard in the past of numerous injector noise complaints with BMW and they were all related to injectors and or vanos and oil weights. However I did some research and found that some E90 owners are having lifters replaced due to ticking noise, here is a link to the very long thread: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=13504

If that is the sound Jose is referring to I would have to concur that that is a lifter.

Thanks Big Daddy, seems that we are from the old school, Im 59 yrs. this month, by the way Ive have had four Bimmers since 1978.
