Power Window Problem?

Hi, I have a BMW 535i with an e34 body style. I noticed that everytime I run the windows up they do not stop when they reach the top. Instead they bog the electric motors down and cause the door panels to flex outward. Is this normal? Also, for some reason the two switches on both the back doors do not work. The only switches that work are the ones on the centre console. Has anyone else had these problems?

one of the window switches on the rear door panels of my 535i doesn't work.. i'm sure its just a bad switch, its probably the same thing going on in your car..

you want to make sure not to put extra wear on your window motors, either. i hear they are 1000 a piece new from bmw...

Open up the door panel/cover and you can see there is a small micro switch which will off the motor whenever the the arm activates it during operation. Check for wiring connections to this switch if not change it, a cheap part.
