Hi. [wave] New to the board.

I've been offered a 325i convert, 5spd, comes with hard top option, 130,000kms (81k miles). Blue on tan leather.
It coming from a long time business associate - whom I consider a good friend as well. She doesn't quite know a fair price to charge me, and it's harder being friends.
I was able to get KBB values. It's showing 11,700 private sale and 9,175 trade in value.
These are in Canadian dollars as well - car is located in Toronto.
Dealer serviced always and the car is in very good cosmetic condition.
The only thing it has going on right now is she tells me there is a squeak coming from the steering wheel. Don't know if she means it needs PS fluid, or the steering column just needs some greasing.

Based on my description, any ideas on a fair price/good deal for this car?

I'm a Maxima owner and a couple of guys in my forum feel even $9175 is too much for a 94, but the simple fact is - Bimmer resale values are way better than our rice-rockets.

Cheers - thanks for reading!

If she has all the service records, tell her 11,000.00 if she has it E-tested,Safety checked(government requirement here) and takes it thru a BMW dealer for the pre-owned checklist safety check...They did mine and its very very thorough..

yeah . .that's a good price ! !

and miles aren't that bad . . . if she has all the paper work ! ! !

I have that same noise . . . only when I turn Left . . . so I drive in circles . . . lol

It's a gasket in the steering colum . . . you have to take it a part

other than that
I say "GO FOR IT ! ! !" [headbang] [headbang] [headbang]

In US dollars, I feel that $9000 - $10,500 is reasonable for the mileage and assuming good condition for a convertible.

IMHO, $8000 would be a steal for a convertible. '94 sedans and coupes routinely sell for $7000 - $9000 US, again depending on condition, area, etc.

Cool. Thank you to all for your input. Helps me put it into perspective a little better.

And while I have you here... I'm looking to do an e36 headlight conversion on my Maxima.
(For anyone who thinks I'm on crack...which I am... the 3rd gen Maxima [89-94] has almost identical shaped headlights and many of us are swapping them out for e36's with only minor modifications necessary).
Myself, I'm looking to go with a projector version with angel eyes and glass housing preferable.
I've been to all the usual places Umnitza, eBay, etc... Just wondering if you guys know of any hidden places I can look that offer better deals than most.
It's a trade off. Good prices on eBay, but you probably aren't getting anything of quality, whereas on the web you have to lay out the $$'s.
Anyway, if you can point me in the direction of some good sites - I'd appreciate it.
