Hi All
I have a very annoying shake or vibration happening. It seems to start at about 110k (yes the ever killer balance speed)
My car is a '97 328ic with 90,000 kms (somewhere around 55,000 miles) It started about 8000 kms ago. I am running M3 rims 245/40/17 on 8.5 rear and 225/45/17 on 7.5 front. (Falken top model) They have been checked and rechecked using a road force balancer. (the Falkens have gotten very noisy it seems as well) I had the car on a hoist and ran it up to speed and you could see the rear right wheel assemby was just a shakin'. All the bearings and visible bushings under the car seemed quiet and no wet spots. Went home and put the stock sport 16" rims on, (balanced) hit the highway and still there, although seemed a little less pronounced. (Makes me think wieght related to WHAT unbalanced or bent part?)

If I had to say what it feels like........... ba da da da da da da da............ba da da da da da da............ about 1 second long and one second apart. As I increase speed it only seems to increase intensity.
Today I was running for an hour or so at 140k and it seemed to drop off a bit and was tolerable.

Any thoughts would be much apprciated!

With it being that long of a duration (1 sec) and that far apart (1 sec), it's not at a primary frequency of any rotating part. That implies that it is a resonation in the chassis/body. These are tough to find and fix. Was the car ever wrecked, as far as you know?

Possibilities:
Struts/shocks
Motor mounts
Guibo (transmission flex disk)
Suspension Bushings
Body Mounts
