Rod bearing recall done at 46k miles....

I just wanna know is that bad? for the recall to be done at a mileage so late.

most 01 and 02 M3's i heard get their rod bearing recalls done at 20k.

please any feedback or comment would help....

getting ready to buy a 01 E46 M3

The short answer: No.

I have heard of a rod bearing replacement at 178k miles.

Mine was done at 36k miles and I am now at 54k miles with no issues.

Should be fine, they will thoroughly inspect your engine when the recall is performed so you really have nothing to worry about.

Heh, if anything it would actually be good. You will get a new bottom end and 100,000 mile warranty on the motor to boot....

I had mine done at about 27k. No ill effects here.....
