Rotor replacement interval

On a stock brake system (e36 328i), how many sets of pads can you go through before the rotors need to be replaced? thanks

i think that it depends on how much you use them. when you replace your pads you should get them checked.

Manuel is correct, check them with each pad replacement. I am on my second set of pads with the 750iL and the M roadster and have not replaced either yet. I think the 750iL will be due with the next set as I am getting some warpage feeling in the pedal.

I'm using the number of brake pad changes as an indicator of how much I'm using my brakes. This will be the first time I'm replacing the pads and the rotors look healthy, but I don't have a micrometer to determine whether my rotors are still within spec.

i would say atleast 2. maybe more...though i still suggest you find a place that will check your rotors. it would suck if about a few months after your install new brakes, your rotors have gone bad.
