I had the rotors and brake pads changed recently. Immediately I noticed that the brake pedal reacted much sooner than b/f. That lasted about 1000 miles, now it feels like b/f with old rotors and pads. What's up??? JRH

everything needs to break in by my account. sometimes your calipers will auto adjust for new pads/ new anything. but my guess is that brand new rotors with tons of grip and brand new pads with tons of grip were the case.

I agree, the new rotors were probably a less worn than your old, your pads, since they were new are thicker, so that means there should have been less pedal travel before you felt them grab. If you want that feeling back, bleed all 4 of your calipers, maybe even flush out the old fluid.
