Says back light it out

Weird problem:

1997 or 1998 528i


The dash car says that one of the passenger side rear lights is out; I replaced every single bulb on that assembly that came out and it still says it is out?!? Is there some sort of reset or magical 5-Series secret that I'm missing?

I have an 89' 535i had a similar problem, the bulb wasn't locked into place just right. ok now

make sure you used stainless steel bulb housings (bottom metal part of bulb is siler and not brass) another thing is to check the bulb sockets. make sure they are not burnt inside.
i'm not one hundred percent on this but i think that if the third brake light burns out the right rear indicator will come on if not the ledt rear one or the other. Some things to check.
