No hard feelings at all. [:)]

Wasn't attempting to lie or deceive. [rolleyes]

From the RMS website at:

http://www.racemarque.com/rms_bmw/m...dels&productid=11&back=seriesid=11&modelid=27
for the 328i Cabriolet (1996-1999, E36, M52)

The stage one system is rated at 369 HP - 310 HP at the wheels. This system comes complete with High Flow Injectors and RMS Software. Your purchase comes with comprehensive Instructions[confused] and technical know-how that can't be beat."

"Also available in stage 2. The stage 2 system boasts the addition of the RMS Air-to-Liquid after cooler system. Nothing comes close to the efficiency this cooler has to offer. This cooler keeps the air cool even when your idling at a stop light, ready to cool the second you accelerate. With the help of this great cooling system, we are able to raise the boost and develop 411 hp at the crank. ..."

And, you are right, the percentage drop is the 16% you note. The gross hp should be calculated as 289 hp + 42 hp + 75 hp (NOS) at the crank and less 16% at the rear wheels provides an "on paper" transfer of 341 hp.

Please forgive my original exhuberance. This will be the first time i will be driving a vehicle with this much potential hp. I will only be able to compare it to riding in the back seat of a TA-4J.

And, to answer one of your other question regarding how i am going to keep the wheels on the ground? I don't know. Haven't driven it yet as i am awaiting the DME from RMS.

Once i get that DME, it is off to the track to find out what the car can do.

I can send you pictures or post them here if i could only figure out how. [?|]

I agree that the RMS website implies the M52 Stage I package makes 369 hp. at the crank. You go to the site, you go to products, you click on 328i or any other 2.8 liter M52 and you get exactly what you have described.

However, if you go to the same site, go to products and click on an E36 M3, or any other car with the 3.2 liter S52, you get the same numbers, 369 hp. Stage I, 411 hp. Stage II. I think that is a little bit misleading.

As noted in the link I posted above, if you go to another part of their site, they only claim 289 hp. at the crank for the Stage I M52 2.8, and don't even list numbers for a Stage II kit for the 2.8. Given that the M52 is down 50 hp. versus the S52 in stock form, (190 vs. 240) it is not surprising that it would make less hp. when blown.

Based on a 80 hp. difference in Stage I form, I think you can expect around an 80 hp. difference in Stage II form, which would put you around 331 crank hp. without NOS.

I wish you luck on your DME. Hopefully it will be ready to go out of the box, but I have heard many bad things about trying to tune OBDII engines running high boost. You may have to seek professional help. And I am just about certain you are going to need more rubber on the rears. Those 225s are just not up to the task of handling that kind of power at the wheels.

My brother runs a Buick Grand National on weekends and he too suggested i may need to upgrade the rear tires to slicks to obtain "full value". Time will tell.

I do appreciate your input. I will welcome it anytime. [:)]
