I have a strong wobble in my wheel, especially when I shake it from left to right even a tiny bit. On the highway it pulls randomly. I went to get my car aligned and they said my driver's side tie rod was bent and they didn't want to risk snapping it trying to set it back, although they did balance the tires. Would this be the exact problem I am describing? ALso, how much would I be expected to pay at a regular shop, not the dealer for both new tie rods and an alignment?

Get a new part for about £30. Sounds like you need it!

I was quoted at 115 per tie rod at the dealer. I don't know how much they run off somewhere else.

You can get both left and right tie rod assemblies from Arizona Autohaus, one of our sponsors, for less than $100.00! This is a simple replacement if you are mechanical at all. You may need a wheel alignment afterwards, but that may be needed either way!

thanks, i have the bentely manual at home. i'm at school now so it won't be for a while but the process isn't hard at all? Just take the wheels off and it's a direct in and out thing?

Measure the distance/lengths tie rods before removing and the number of turns needed to remove the ends of your tie rods after removing them and than turn the new ones to the same lengths.

is that explained more clearly in the manual, about the measuring? I don't quite understand what you mean. I've never seen one before.
