Something rattling in my sunroof.

I don't know what the hell it is, but something is rattling in my sunroof. The roof doesn't work though. It goes back about a quarter inch and stops (Thats how it was when i got the car) Therefore, i dont' even borther opening it. Anyone ever done work to this?

i have the same problem, it just started though. if i hit it from underneath a few times, it'll sometimes work

sunroofs are infamous in the e36. unfortunately it can EASILY be that the entire casette has to be replaced. i have a problem with mine, and i freaked, but then figured out it was minor. the diffuser that pops up when the sunroof opens in mine is kind of messed up, therefore i have to be moving (pressure on the diffuser from air) in order to close mine.
