SRC Light comes on for 1 minute

At start up the SRC light comes on for about 1 minute everytime and goes off. I've read a little about this and spoke to the dealer. The consensus is leave it alone. Probably means a sensor in the seat or seat buckle buckle is bad and the air bags will work. I think the passenger side has detectors that wont deploy if no one is there during a crash. Anyhow, I'd feel better without the light coming on. Should I start with changing the passenger buckle? Anybody been down this road?

nope i haven´t but i doubt the sensor story. in my books that feature wasn´t part of E36 cars, especially not in 95.

anyway, airbags are lifesavers (no pun intended) and i would definetly not mess with them. i really wonder how the dealer could go over it that easy. was it a BMW one? you might want to check one or two BMW dealers or mother mechanics to get their advice.

It was the BMW dealer that said it, but not officially. It was the Mechanic himself while giving me the car when it was in for something else. I am sure if I inquired thru the service department they would have said it needs to come in for diagnostic. Who is Mother Mechanic? Thanks
