standard/sport wheels (weight)

i just removed the standard 16x7's off my 2003 325i and put on the style 96 7-spoke sport package wheels. i was concerned with the new ones being too heavy but i took a risk anyways. They are now on and everything is perfect (ie- shift points, acceleration, braking, etc.)

here are the numers for future reference:

Style 45 w/ conti 205/55/16

41 LBS per wheel/tire

Style 96 w/ pirelli 225/45/17

44 LBS per wheel/tire

the way i see it ... most bmw 3-series wheels with the recommended tires weigh roughly the same ... or they are so close to each other it doesnt matter
