hey guys, Im a new owner of a 93' 325is and the first thing i wanted to do was replace the stock radio. It had a pioneer 6 disk changer hooked up but the car was pre-wired to take one. The previous owner had it put in but it sucks (skips too much). So i did like normal, attatched the wire harness and hooked it up...no sound. The HU worked, it played cds but no sound from speakers. So i hooked up the stock steroe again until i can figure out what went wrong, now the cd changer wont work with the stock radio. Any ideas?? Also, the previos owner installed a vdo oil pressure gauge and it was spliced with the wires connected to the wire harness, is this normal or should i connect them elswhere. I dont know how to read the oil pressure gauge anyway...maybe someone could tell me how to read that? Thanks for the help, you guys must get tired of newbs asking dumb questions.

Not sure but I think some aftermarket Pioneer and Alpine changers with an adapter worked with the stock head unit. Might be your new head unit is not compatible with the CD changer. As long as the oil pressure guage is working and the connections are clean.....loeave it alone. Check the wiring again, you might have forgot the cd changer connections. Best bet, throw in the aftermarket head unit, get a different CD changer. 6 disc is really not that much. I am done with CD changers since I have a MP3 head unit.
