sunroof

my 92' 352is has another issue.
i have just bought this car, and im freaked to work on it my self with out know ing as much as i can first. i have a question about the sunroof.

there is a little covering that slides freely back and forth ??? what the heck is that? likeit will slid forward when i stopp if the sunroof is closed?

also if it is slid back while the sunroof is close it will prevent the sunroof to open?

does any one know how i can take the sunroof off if possible to fix this anyoance?

becasue i only seen my sunroof i don't know howit is suposed to work any feed back would be help ful

Taking out/working on the sunroof is a lot of work and time.

I have an o1 325i, and have removed the sunroof shade on occasion. On mine, you can get to it by removing the 6 screws that hold the glass in place. Then lift the glass off from the outside, and the shade becomes accessable. Mine has metal and plastic tabs on each side, and from what the dealer tells me, these are very succeptable to breaking. 4 new tabs are somewhere around $55 from the dealer.
