Yea, they have been selling them on Ebay for some time now. Usually around $400-500 bucks. Shipping kills ya though. These are the ones I am holding out for, but decided to take the 5 day vacation with the family to Disney World Orlando in November.[;)]

Do you think those are really worth it? I got the cheapest european glass lights I could get. They fit perfectly. The only complaints I had was the leaking/fogging during rain and the purplish looking angel eyes. Both fixes were pretty straight foward. I just got some 10,000MCD white LED's and put them in place of the old cheap leds and sealed up the whole unit with a bit of black silicone and now they're perfect... :-\

I think they are worth a lot. You know since you have a BMW why would yo put cheap stuff on it? I allways spend some more, but I know its guaranteed. You should see this headlamps with HID. Wow I was amazed. But if you fixed yours than its ok. Did you buy aftermarket ones or original european?

I like the chrome interior but I have the E36 wood package. The chrome reminds me of my Mercedes ML320. Why does Mercedes have more chrome or wood in the interior it seems than BMW? And yes, the Hella they sell on Ebay are really Hella lights. I am not going to deal with cheap headlight upgrades if I jump in. I have went with the cheap aftermarket POS tail lights, biggest mistake I made....glad they only cost me 90 bucks, but still kick myself in the butt with all the LEAKS!!!!! All the silicone in the auto parts store could not save them. I am definately not going that route with headlights. Not even going to play with rigging rings in stock head lights either for me. Just my 2 cents. Hella makes some good stuff.[thumb]

Shipping from Germany is not cheap sometimes though.[:(!]

I bought the aftermarket ones with the intention of making the necessary adjustments myself being as I am pretty handy with a soldering gun. Anyway, I usually do not cheap out on parts for my BMW, but when its something like headlights they are pretty much just for looks. Its not like they are going to be bearing any kind of physical load or effect the performance of the car. Any light in the front of your car will get the job done so what kind of lights you get are pretty much just for looks. Obviously HIDs light up the road better and provide you with a little extra safty, but for the most part they are just for looks as well.

Absolutely disagree with you. Tey are not for look at all. I wondering why people think this?
Once you paying so much for your new car than why not get it?

In part is true that in USA you dont drive fast but even here its good to have better visibility.

BMW wouldn't invet something for looks. One day you should go to Germany and take a look at the autobahn at night. Im not shitting it looks like jets on the highway. You can't even describe that. Thats why those HID's. I remember driving a VW Jetta 1.6 diesel thru. When a BMW passed me, the wind almost blew my windows.

Iam Serious. [burnout] [burnout] [burnout]

Check this speedo out. over 320 km/h M5

Ok, so it's obvious why you so pasionately defend the saftey advantage of these headlights.

Let me start off by saying that im only 16 and I've never been to europe yet. I already have money saved up for a trip and Im just waiting to finish out high school. When I do go I will definitly go to Germany and Im sure that if I decide to drive on the autobaun at night I'd drive a car with HIDs.

However this is an American board, and Im sure that over 90% of the people who post here live in America, Canada or Great Britain. The HIDs are DEFINITLY not necessary here. They are more of a status symbol than anything. I could tell you first hand that no one needs HIDs while they're driving their 5 series back to north jersey from the city during rush hour. Also, anyone who is crazy enough to take their bimmer out at 2 AM and drive 160MHP down the park way is going to have a lot more things to worry about than lighting, such as the relitivly poor condition of our major highways compared to the autobaun in Germany.

Hey Pink_Floyd, I've seen you on the board for a while but just realized, you live like 20 minutes from me. Are there any identifying marks about your BMW, maybe I've seen it before.

Yeah, I've never noticed you were so close. My car is pretty stock looking. It's a 92 325i but I've had it recently painted delphin gray, which is an unusual color for the year/model car that I have so I guess it sort of stands out. I am still on my permit and dont get my GDL till november 10th, so I dont really drive it around that much. Sucks driving with parents.
