I am interested in knowing, has anyone out there ever heard of or actually had Teflon Coating applied to the exterior of the vehicle? I am also wondering if anyone out there knows any good Nissan forums as well? I have never heard of BMW offering this. Just curious!

I know all about that Teflon coating and it is 100% crap. All though I dont want to get into all of the details, just know one thing, it is a complete rip off and does next to nothing. Use a good wax, the teflon acts like a wax only 300 times the price. The years they quote about never having to wax is also bogus. It must have been the nissan dealar trying to sell it because I have never heard of a BMW dealar trying to sell it.

Yeah I know, my rommate just got the Nissan 350z and they were really pushing him to get the teflon coating and he did get it. I think it's just a wax that works for a really long time. He seems on the fence on whether or not he likes it or not. Also when I got my BMW the dealership never even said anything to me about teflon coating. We just got a new Mercedes in the house too and they never said anything either. I guess it is just another scam by the dealership to get more of our money. Plus my rommate is a young kid like me so they probably try to take advantage of that aspect as well. Thanks for the feedback people, keep em' coming.......

You can do the "Teflon coating" yourself using Eagle One "Wet" Polish. It leaves a coating of Teflon on the paint. I will tell you that it does look and feel very nice - the Eagle One Wet polish does leave the paint shinier and glassy smooth, and man does it ever make the water bead. However, it doesn't last very long - only about 3 weeks. I only bought one bottle of it because of the fact that it needs such frequent reapplication. You'd be better off just using a quality wax, which is what I do now.
