An 320i shouldnt have a problem doing 133mph(just takes a bit longer!![[thumb]](/images/smilies/icon_smile_thumb.gif "Thumbs Up [thumb]")
). My buddy has a E39 520i and I drove it for him a couple of months back and it was sloooooooow. I mean there was such a big difference in my 523i and his 520i. Well considering my car is up to 215hp up from 170hp i guess it would be a big difference.....arent the 320i/520i's only 150hp?

The problem is not the lower peak power but that you really have to rev the engine before it produces much of it. A big advantage of a six-cylinder engine should be that it provides quiet, silky smooth power whenever you want it. You lose a lot of that advantage over a four-cylinder engine if, as with the 320i/520i, you don't really start to get much power until you are above 4000 rpm. Interestingly enough, BMW decided to reduce the final drive on the European 318is from 3.45:1 to 3.38:1 when they increased its engine displacement to 1.9L. If they hadn't, it would have become slightly faster than a 320i at lower speeds which might have been interesting to explain to the customers.
