An 320i shouldnt have a problem doing 133mph(just takes a bit longer![thumb]). My buddy has a E39 520i and I drove it for him a couple of months back and it was sloooooooow. I mean there was such a big difference in my 523i and his 520i. Well considering my car is up to 215hp up from 170hp i guess it would be a big difference.....arent the 320i/520i's only 150hp?

@The Amis: Good to see both of you guys in here! I was starting to think we were a dying breed on this forum! Any questions for in Europe just post them on the European link on the main forum page!

The problem is not the lower peak power but that you really have to rev the engine before it produces much of it. A big advantage of a six-cylinder engine should be that it provides quiet, silky smooth power whenever you want it. You lose a lot of that advantage over a four-cylinder engine if, as with the 320i/520i, you don't really start to get much power until you are above 4000 rpm. Interestingly enough, BMW decided to reduce the final drive on the European 318is from 3.45:1 to 3.38:1 when they increased its engine displacement to 1.9L. If they hadn't, it would have become slightly faster than a 320i at lower speeds which might have been interesting to explain to the customers.

My 320 Is 150 Bhp,i Timed It To 100 Mph .and It Got There In 21 Seconds. Its Quick Enough, just Slow On Top End. The 520 Would B Alot More Sluggish Than My Car I Also Timed 0-62 It Was 8.0, With Alot Of Wheel Spining From 1st - 2nd.
