V12 information

Hi everyone,

I am new to the board and looking for technical information on the M70 V12.

I am planning on mating one to a Renault UN1 to go in my Lotus Esprit.

My question is - does anyone know if this engine is an interference engine - and also where I can get technical information on it.

Welcome Lotusross. The only thing I can suggest on the V12 is to use a search engine and enter BMW V12, or BMW M70, I am sure something will pop up.

forgive me, but why in hell would you want to use such a complicated electronically controlled engine for a bastardization job?..... why not use a small block chevy or other v-8 with around the same horsepower and a lot less electronics to deal with.... john

the v-12 has a timing chain instead of a belt if that is your concern about the head.... as for interference, i don't know.... john
