Warning light on - what does it mean?

Perhaps this warning light has something to do with my previous post.

My owners manual is missing the pages on warning lights and dash instruments. I recently had a red light turn on. It looks like a circle with 3 or 4 dashes running vertically on each side. Does anyone know what this is in regards to? I thought it was a brake pad light, but not sure.

its your brake wear sensor light..this means 1 of 3 things: your brakes are worn, your sensor(s) has gone bad, or that both are bad and need replacing.

I just changed out the brakes (assuming that was the reason for the light) but the light stayed on. Does that mean that it needs to be reset?
