I have a 2002 330i and of late I am beginning to get annoyed by little noises I hear. When I accelerate from a complete stop, I kind of hear a slight grating-gasping sound. It is a weird sound. I hear the similar sound when I switch the engine off.The other noise I hear is as I am accelerating, at a sudden speed I hear a another sound almost like a rattle, but only at that certain speed and then it goes away. It reminds me of some of the sounds I used to hear in my old Chevy Nova. I don't think a 20 month old car should be making such noises. I know my descriptions are probably not right on, but I am getting really irritated by it. Anybody having such a problem? Should I take it to the shop? Will really appreciate any helpful responses.
