steelblu, why do you say that he will need to replace the rotors too? If there is still some braking surface left, why would the pads hurt the rotors? Or am I missing something? Thanks in advance.

He probably thought this.

When you are changing new rotors, you have to change also new pads because the rotors will warp. If you are just changing pads, you can still use old rotors.

But I would suggest changing rotors too because once you turn them down to make the surface straight again, its not the same.

That's what I thought too. I refused to believe that the rotors will perform just like new ones after a precedure that only costs a few bucks.
