okay so last night was driving home from picking up the girlfriend from work took the onramp onto I5 heading north out of seattle... roads were wet and the ramp was a sharp turn suddenly back end broke loose and went head on into the guard rail. Car still runs still drives just needs some new parts. Just payed $200+ to get it released from the towing yard. Don't wanna report it to insurance because i have a feeling they will total the car and that i won't get enough money for the car if they do decide to total it. Plus i'm only 22 and this will KILL me on my insurance rate.. i have enought speeding tickets as it is on my record. So i have some contacts and hook ups for some body work so i'm fine with that. Gives me a good reason for upgrades and the girlfriend won't know any better. Anyways aftermarket parts are generally cheaper then oem parts.

*list of parts i know i need*
-new headlights(new depo lights)
-new cornerlights(new clears)
-new radiator
-new passenger side fender
-new hood(new carbon fiber)
-new grills
-new grill sourround
-new bumper(new m3 bumper)
-new fans (fan removal kit)

well here are some pics of the car anything that you guys can see that i should upgrade while i'm at it?

so if anyone has anyparts for the front of a 92 325i sedan that i could use please let me know i've got money to send. Thanx!

Also, I know this doesn't help much but try local junk yards. I've had luck with that a few times (one junk yard has two E36s but both have wrecked fronts). Another thing, the front grille assembly thing (keep forgetting the actual name) can be had from the dealer for around 100 (if not the dealer, online stores) but youd have to paint it. The top radiator support seems to be screwed too, thats is around 200 i think. Good luck with the repair, hope it works out for you.

The passenger side frame piece looks bent, I'm sure theres a lot more parts that need replacing than the ones mentioned. When they remove the bumper if any of the rails are bent then you probably need a frame piece, they can bend it back but it wont be 100%.

Doesn't look horribly bad, I'm sure its all fixable. E36 parts are a dime a dozen, just join a forum like bimmerforums where people are parting out cars all the time.

You must be a n00b at rear wheel drive though correct?

yeah i actually just got this car about 3 weeks ago. I've gone and joined all the bmw forums that i've come across... bimmerforums... bimmerfest.. this one.. I've gotten alot of help thanks guys.

And no i'm not a rwd noob... i've owned a 2001 v8 grand cherokee (actually that was 4x4 but it could be rwd) also owned a nissan 240sx(s13 swap with a lot more hp) and a 95 volvo 960 which was also rwd. It was just rainy wet... probably a lil too much speed for such a tight sweeping onramp. Also the paramedics told me my accident was the 3rd one that night in the exact same spot from when the sunset at 6pm and when my accident happened at 9:40pm. Lol the city had just fixed the guardrail from a previous accident they replaced about 100ft of guard rail that was torn down now they gotta replace 1 section that has 2 broken wooden poles and a dent in the rail. oops [8]

Are you (serious)? What the hell is a s13 swap? What year was it. I dont think you swapped (anything) if you dont realize you're talking about a sr20det engine or anything else from the JDM.

Why dont you tell me the different between a sr20det red top adn a sr20det black top?

Do you know what a sr20dett would mean compared to a sr20det?

Anyways might aswell look into getting a decent CF hood. When looking for a CF hood make sure to drill the sales representative to get one that will surely have a clean fit. Also trya dn get one with rolled edges and make sure they have some sort of UV protection and they offer some sort of warranty against color fading/changing.

As far as headlights, go with ZKW's with HID's and/or angel eyes.

For your frotn corner lights spend a bit more than the typical ebay buy. Sadly (this is true) I have heard a ridiculous amount about e36's whos cheapo front corner lights have FALLEN OUT while driving. i dont know whats the matter with the e36, but they just dont like cheap corner lights. Protect your investment instead of buying corner lights twice.

Dependign on where you live, and if you are buying a new radiator instead of a junkyard one, you might consider a race radiator. Actually, just go for the race if you ever plan on doign major engine work.

Make sure your drivers side fender is OK. Your corners might just fall out because this is out of shape. THat bent brace in your engine bay above your drivers side headlight will defintely need to be fixed and make sure it didnt affect the fitament of your corners.

Grills...im torn whether you should gfet chrome or go with a black out kit. That's your call. For the grill surrounding and grill I would recomend you find the grill and surroudnign from a 1997+. They have a more slanted look and ook newer and more agressive. A small detail upgrade that pays off great!

M3 bumper...yeah defintely. Dont forget to get the add on lip, it's only like $60 or $70 more. And make sure you dont get a M3 bumper off a luxury package sedan. They have the slat thing that kinda ruins the agressive look. And ALSO dont forget the mesh. Thats like another $60. And while you're at it, since youll probably have one body/paint shop do allt he work, wor out a good deal and get your side skirts and rear apron painted.

I just looked at your license plates and it seems you may live in Washington state. Go ahead and delete that fan. You guys dont get any warm weather anywyas, just 300 straight days of drizzlign rain. Sorry about that.

Good luck and dont lie about s13's.
