Z3 clutch stop

There is a wheel behind the clutch on my 2001 Z3. I can turn it but I am not sure what I am doing. I heard it was a "clutch stop".

Can someone give more details on this gizmo? [driving2]

It does nothing other than keep you from pushing the clutch further than need be. There is a replacement one that is larger in diameter. Before I got the new one I had a habit of mashing so hard that the pedal would slip past the factory stop.

Thanks. I didn't want to screw it to far and lose the cable or something.

Also, I had another recent post, where I asked if you know a good recommendation for BMW service around Seattle?
