i might be wrong, but i think fold-down seats were either a luxury package option or stand-alone option w/ the e46's... my car has the premium package, and my rear seats don't fold down. :(
a few guys in the rx8 club have the borla, but most of their issues were fitment and noises that required going back and either having it replaced under warranty and/ or re-fitted. am not sure about the oil loss, but that does sound wierd.

i like it :) it's very similar- though more refined- than the hyundai concept, which looked more like an insect. <lol> the mazda family resemblance is fairly obvious as well...
i redline my e46 at least once a day, and the car really doesn't haul ass until u get up to around 6k rpm... makes for a funner commute at least... [driving2]
in my opinion, bmw aesthetics has been going up, but build quality HAS been going down... they've forgotten things they did RIGHT in the late 90's/ early 2000's- ie when a simple design works, stick with it. they're becoming like Honda and don't know how to leave good enough alone and start...
i think it'll all depend on pricing... in the 90's u could get a well-equipped 3 for under 30k otd if u haggled your butt off. today, the otd price tags range from high 30's to high 50's... and, the issue is, the higher the price tag, the more customers will go, "hmm, what else can i buy if...
