when i shift around 2.5k to 3k, i can get around 325 to 330 miles per tank. when i shift around 4k to 5k i get around 300 even. i have 87k miles and am going on my 8th year of ownership. i love driving tho, so even in my daily commute i'm typically shifting at around 5k. :)

umm, how much was the estimate and did u go thru insurance? if so, u can contact ur insurance adjuster and show them the lousy repair and request it be fixed again. even if u paid out-of-pocket u should still go to a bmw-authorized (and/ or reputable) body shop. they will give u a good deal...
