Can someone here please tell me where my fuse box is located? I believe that I have a blown fuse, several accressories are not working. The dealer is 50 miles from here, and I can change a fuse (I just can't figure out where the fuse box is)

Thanks,

[thumb] This should be an easy problem/solution... Under the hood on the drivers side next to the firewall, the fuse box is located in the black box. Keep in mind that you will need an allen wrench to open the fuse box. Happy Motoring...[driving2]

actually it's above your glovebox.

open the glovebox up, and feel for two tabs on each side on top. twist both 90 degrees, and the fusebox will drop down.

there is a card in there that has what fuse is connected to what component so you can troubleshoot what fuse might be blown. the card also shows the location of the spare fuses, iirc they are the ones plugged in horizontally. there's a little tong in there to take the fuse out also. good luck

Yeah, what AVe Jae said...that box in the engine compartment is the engine managment controller i thought.

This is kinda funny...my Aunt dropped a penny in her lighter socket. It shorted the fuse in her X5! Can you beleive that? I didn't realize that could cause that...I guess it completed the circuit?

They were both right. There is a fuse box in the glove box... and a smaller one in the engine compartment. I think I have a blown relay with so many items not working.
Off to the dealer.

[thumb] Thanks KawRider, I knew I wasn't that crazy... My Daytime Running Lights are conected to the fuse box under the hood. I have them hooked into the ignition fuze so they only come on when I power up the ignition switch. I must admit I never knew about a fuze box in the glove box, thanks for the lesson. Happy Motoring [driving2]
