18-button OBC

Will the 18-button OBC work in my E36, if I had 11-button one before?

The one I have shows dat/time and outside temperature.
The 18-button one has a trip computer and date/time (no check control).

Also, the 18-button one doesn't seem to have temperature sensor input, but has fuel level sensor input. Are the connectors in the back of the unit compatible?

They arnt compatabile, you need to rewire your car to have the 18button obc installed + you need the harness from the 18 button obc.. search the forum I that topic already came up many times, there is a howto on doing the rewireing if you`re intrested.

I really want to do this to my car... is the process pretty rough? I think your post said around 2 hours for the whole thing
