x5 hesitation

Always A Smart One Out There--.
It Is Manditory You Hold Your Foot On The Brake To Prevent Creep When Stopped. If You Do That With Your Left Foot And Don't Get Foot
Completely Off The Pedal The Condition Will Occur. The Programming Is
Such That If The Brake Switch Is Made When You TRY To Accelerate
You Are In For A Big Shock. Could Even Lose Control.

JKnight,

This is a well documented problem with the X5. It affects both the 8 cylinder and the 6 cylinder trucks.

All you need to do is take it to the service department and tell them about the problem. They will reprogram the computer in the car and you'll be all set!

By the way, it takes about 3 to 4 days to get your car back. Apparently, most dealers don' stock the disks needed to make this particular software update and they need to order the them first. Just a heads up.

Here's a link to another BMW forum where I posted the information on how the dealer solved this exact same problem on my 2004 X5.
