2006 325i Acceleration Lag

I test drove a pre-owned 2006 325 automatic today and there was a noticable lag when accelerating from a stop. The lag goes away rather quickly. Has anyone else noticed this? Is there a fix for it?

I spoke with a BMW service manager this morning about this issue. He said that this is a known problem and that BMW is working on a software fix but it is not ready yet.

Yes I have the same problem. I have 11k miles and had the dealer/tech inspect. Tech said this is normal and I disagreed. I had a '06 325ia loaner and it did not have this problem. Tech said the car must downshift 2 gears to engage acceleration. I told them thats b.s.
I've driven other bimmers and never had this problem. I made a complaint to HQ and will record and investigate. If it is a software problem please keep me inform.
