320 automatic mileage

Hi, lately been driving two cars, E30 318 manual (1984) and E36 320i automatic (1992 5-speed). Have quite interesting mileages so to say, the E30 eats nothing compared to my E36. Well, for the E36 easy-driving daily mixed cycle (50/50 city and freeeway) average figures are around 11-12l/100Km (or 19-20mpg), this is if I am very honest driver like my grandpa. Figures are awesome if I try sports mode..
What are you guys getting out of your cars? I mean, automatics..

I get 19 to 20 miles per gallon with a 325ic 1995 automatic

That actually seems kind of low. When I have the average fuel consumption on for an extended period of time on my manual 1998 M3 it always comes out to 23.4 mpg, which was way more than I expected.

I'm assuming automatic gets better mileage?
