why go twin insted of one big turbo......? in looking for suggestions more for a unique proyect for car shows that peformance in 1/4 mile. My first idea was building a natural aspire engine with 500 plus hp with cams, heads, pistons and everytthing you can imagin with engine performance but now i got new dreams and is a 328 is twin turbo withthe same engine that i got right now,but you know forged pistons, head work, microtech ecu, electromotive ignitions and bigger fuel system well everything needed to suport 500+ hp. if any one got an idea regarding twin turbo set ups or pics if they got one i will apreciate any coment or suggestions before i make a decision, we together can make this machine come thru thanks to everyone ......peace

1.) There is absolutely no way you would ever get even close to 500hp out of a normally aspirated e36 engine. You could even start with a S52B32 from Europe for all I care. Not gonna happen.

2.) Twin turbo setups are theoretically to:
a.) produce more power (with a big turbo)
b.) reduce turbo lag / smooth out power band (small turbo)

3.) No one runs a twin turbo setup on an e36 because:
a.) no one builds or supports them
b.) it is more than hard enough to tune a single turbo setup - two is even harder
c.) R & D costs would absolutely be through the roof
d.) many custom fabricated parts
e.) for the amount of money you would spend, you could buy a much, much nicer and faster car
f.) a single turbo would get the job done.
g.) the car would not maintain any sort of civility to drive on the street

If you're actually serious (and realistic) about getting more power, then perhaps talking to Active Autowerke is a good next step.
