hi, i'm not sure of the part name but it acts as a universal joint for the drive shaft. It's on the transmission side of the shaft and it bangs when you put it in reverse and acceleration clicks and all thiss good stuff. they told me at the dealership it was a normal wearing part at those symptoms are all normal. Well I was wondering if anybody had ever personally preformed the repair on thi and how big a job is it? Do you know what ill need as far as special tools or any parts that also shoud be replace while doing this? Maybe things need to come off to get at it? Just basically want an idea of what I am getting into. Thanks a lot!

guibo i found out the name of it. I started working on it today and im sitting a little screwed. turns out there was not one on my car. so it was banging metal on metal. It damaged the screws and parts of the driveshaft. Part of the driveshaft. Metal pieves are boken of it and im not sure if i can make it work. Im not quite sure what holds the driveshaft to the transmission is it the guibo, that is this round rubber cushon that was supposed to protect the shaft from the shock of changing gears. Im hoping that i can somehow use it to hold it together seeing that all that broke was a little piece of a flange of the tip of the drive shaft. Anybody experience this and find a way not to have to by a new 700 dollar drive shaft thanks.
