I have a '96 328iC with sport package. I need winter tires here in NJ and I bought a used set of style 44 17" wheels with Dunlop WinterSport tires size 245/45x17. They look a little big. Am I going to have any clearance problems?

245 might be a bit too wide and rub. I have 225/45 17 and no problems at all. Mount them and see if they rub. You will find out pretty quick. I have a 97 328IC with the 44 style, the 225 fill them up well, I did not want to go any wider.

You can see the width of the 225 is wide enough. Hope this pic helps.

Well, i'll tell you right now. I have a 92" 325I and had some 245/45/17's and that shit rub the hell outa the tires. Especially the back. I couldn't even have a 50lbs child in the car. Infact, i don't even need any weight on the car for it to rub. It rub every time i made a turn or go over a bump. It was BAD. I just capped some 225/45/17's and it's all fine now. However, I don't know about the 325ic. But all i have to say is GOODLUCK WITH THOSE.

Well it looks like I made a error and mixed up my 5 series tires with the 3 series. The wheels I needed advice on are 225/45X17 and it sounds like that will work just fine on my 96. I guess I'll know soon enough as I plan to put them on this weekend. Thanks to all who posted!
