I am looking into adding the rollover package to my 1997 328i convertible. I know I can get the parts from a salvaged 328. Can anyone give me insight into the installation. I have these specific questions.....
1) is the check light on the instrument panel is already there or will I have to add a light bulb
2) is the car is pre-wired to the sensor/brain and then from the sensor to the actuators
3) the Bently manual wasn't much help, but it looked like the rollover actuators bolt to the car frame behind the back seat. Is the frame pre-drilled for these
4) How can I to test the actuators after installation. Not sure how I will do this. Don't know if I can take it to a dealer and have it tested?
5) I there any reprogramming in the main computer required for this upgrade?
I would sure like to hear your thoughts especially if you have had experience doing this upgrade. I'm sure its been done before. I am just trying to get an idea of what I am in for.
