Does anyone know the symptoms to faulty airflow meter?I have a 318is (99) and it doesn't really seem to move very fast! It miss-fires at idle and whenever I accelerate hard it feels like I'm towing a truck! When I'm not driving fast it then feels as if the brakes are on. However there isn't a problam with brakes because when the car is moving and not in gear it moves very freely. Any information will be greatly appreciated

When my mass airflow meter went I was unable to to keep it running unless I kept the RPM's above 3500. It did seem to be running choppy for a couple weeks prior. Get it checked out before it dies and strands you somewhere, while you can drive with it out, and it tough and harsh on your catalitic converter.
Also, if you find it is the airflow meter - DO IT YOURSELF!! They wanted over $400 to do it at a foreign car place. It took me a screwdriver and five mintes to do it myself. If you want to go real cheap you can buy one used off of E-BAY for $30 to $50 dollars. Good luck!
