Amazing Hood Paint

I used to have a close up of the hood in this picture but cannot find it know. A friend of mine has a violet M3 and would love to see this hood up close. If anyone has any pictures or a link, it would help me out a lot.

It's paint. I used to have a close-up that really shows it well. The detail is amazing.

I think it's pretty cool. If other car companies make glass windows to show off their engines, then why can't someone paint their exact engine on their hood?

it looks like photoshop. I would like to see the close ups because that would be a pretty amazing paint job.

Just a thought,
Did they park the car so that the sun was going the same way as they painted the highlights and shadows on purpose? and take the picture so that we were looking at the engine from the same angle it was painted from? Seems a little unlikely. If that were a paint job... it would look really bad from any other angle...
My thought is that they took 2 picture from the same spot, one with the hood.. one without. Actually you could pretty easily do it with the hood open as long as the sun is facing into the engine.. otherwise the hood would cast a shadow into the engine compartment.. (hence the orientation of the photo)

Sorry to be so skeptical.. but it doesnt seem likely.. and I can easily duplicate that effect.

I agree, that would look horrible from any other angly. It's a 2-D paint job trying to depict a 3-D picture. Def done in photoshop. Even the edges of the hood look pixilated by a fade done on a computer.

Found the picture I was looking for on an old floppy. I had to recover the file so there are a few lines at the top. It DOES look like a Photoshop job. What do you think?

Definately NOT a paint job, but looks good anyway.

100% fake since you can see some parts of the hood are black metal (far pessenger side). If they would make something like that... it would be all glass/plastic.

And besides, the perspective wouldn't change if it was paint.
