The antenna mast broke at the base below where it screws into the trunk. The mast is ok but I see a little wire in the whole and I have the female screw part that the wire attaches to (on the bottom) and the mast attaches to by screwing in... If I could get to the wire I'd solder it and glue the female peice back in. I dont want to buy a new antenna base for $89. Anybody come across this problem?

I think I kinda understand what you are talking about, on my 97 328 convert, the rubber grommet on the antenna has about rotted off, the antenna itself screws into a dome looking base. Were you replacing the rubber grommet or something and the base that the antenna screws in had a problem. Is that where you see the wire? Any way some tweezers can help ya? By the way, is your rubber antenna mast grommet rotted also? Damn I have to find one way to fix that eyesore. Going to look at my antenna today on the vert and see if there is anything I can figure out to help you.
