Anti Theft

I have a 92 BMW 318i and the car keeps dying on me. It only happens when i turn on the stereo. I was told that the anti theft gets activated when i turn on the stereo and for that reason the car dies.

Does anybody knows how to deactivate the anti theft? or Should I replace the stereo?

Any suggestion will be appreciate.

I have heard that it may happen when installing an aftermarket radio. That the alarm is in some way connected to the radio. I installed an aftermarket Panasonic from Circuit City and have absolutely NO problems with my 98 328i. I don't know if it is luck or the fact that it was installed properly or if because I don't have any other special options hooked up to the radio.

What type of radio did you install? What features did you install (cell mute, amp, etc.)?

I got the original radio the one that comes with the car. I don't have any feature hook up to the radio. I think I'm gonna replace the radio maybe that fix the problem.
