those are by far one of the best handling cars in the world true it has no power but it hugs the road like you hug a person you will never see again. my dad had a 2001 miata i loved that car and probibly would have gotten it when i got my licnese if he hadnt sold it, for an s2000 which is a great car lots of power but i hate the way it handles, it is a very sudden slip of the rear end around corners i dont like a suprise slid, not experienc ed enoguh to handle it.

One of my good friends has an S2000 and your right. That thing is like driving a mustang or some other hot rod. Great in a straight line but can be very dangerous in the corners. My old bimmer will take him everytime around some of the roads we have here. Now if he knew what he was doing it would be a different story. I hope he never learns to drive because it sure is fun to rub it into his face. Having an old car beat his new sport car. I guess I could have a nice new sports car too, but I have to have my wife in a new car don't like to worry about her and I find having a nicer home is a lot better than a new sport car. So, hence my 93 325is 5,800, home 155,000, suv 30,000 and a safe wife priceless.

I will probably move to DSP (Street Prepared) sometime next year. I'm still working on my skills to consistently drive at the limit and know when I'm there. Only then will I be able to really tell what effect a particular mod has really done to the car. My short list of mods include adjustable struts/shocks, like Konis and caster/camber plates to tweak the turn-in handing, and dedicated AutoX tires like Falken Azenis or Kumho Victoracers.

No Miatas at the last event. but I have seen them run at other events. They do have wicked handling, and the S2000 is awesome as well. Mazda is solving the power problem with a Mazdaspeed Miata turbo. Haven't seen one of them run yet.

There is a lot of talk about 911, the 944 is not in the same price bracket. I have not driven a 911 but I had a Boxster and the handling of this mid engine car was the best car I have ever driven. On paper my 330i should be as fast as my Boxster was but I can tell you if you are on curved roads the Boxster is going to be all over a 330i.
