i do not trust them, as i do not trust other promisses of hp and torque gain just because of a chip. and at that price???? did they rip a game boy apart or do they manage to dump market price level???

Really???[confused]

Ok this may or may improve your car or blow your engine. from what i have read its not a chip at all. i understand it as a control module. Interupting the control signals from the ECU. thats why its cheaper because the box doesn't control EVERYTHING just the fuel/air mixture basically. I definatly wouldn't buy it. a chip can balance out everything and respond to problems. (if your car has cut-offs for fuel incase of an accident then with this installed it will want to keep the fuel running and will keep the flow going) basically i spend more on fuel because its a BMW. i spend double the ammount on servicing and parts because its a BMW. im not going to spend $45 to blow up my engine and risk killing all my occupants.

depends. for a regular engine where nothing else is done than the chip, i do not believe in any claim stated by the chip manufacturer or distributor.
when an engine has additional changes like cams the chip is a must. the gain is still in question.
for diesel engines, a chip is a way of tuning that delivers improvement with the chip opnly, but that is diesel engines.

I had a chip in the car i had before the bmw and i got very disappointed as nothing, really nothing was improved. furthermore i never saw a dyno that shows what the chip really did. what you see is almost always with another exhaust system, some other sort of intake, or other kinds of changes. never ever could anyone present prove that the chip itself really delivers what it promisses. oh and btw, all chip i know require higher octane gaz. heck higher octane gaz gives more power even without a chip, so what's the deal? (i knmow it's to prevent knocking as the motronics are changed, but still it so fishy)
