Hi, guys recently I have been updating all the maintenance the P.O. neglected to do. Right now around 2,500 worth and I am doing all the labor. Well everything except the tires. Two weeks ago I installed a new clarion pro radio awsome by the way. My problem there was I was sold the wrong wiring harness I bought it late in the day on a Sat. and out of town. I was so mad when I discovered this later that night when I started what I thought would be a 30 minute job. It turned into two hours. I had to search the net for the radio wiring codes then cut the harness and splice all the wires. For my ground noise I think I am going to just ground the radio to the car instead of the factory wire. But the cruise I am at a loss. I checked the #46 fuse and it was fine in fact they were all fine. Have any of you guys had either of these problems with or without the harness? Thanks for any help.

Manuel, I have never heard of putting a capacitor inline for that. Do you have a cap. # so I can try this? Anyone else here lost their cruise control? I do alot of highway driving and I am hoping to get this fixed before resorting to the stealer dealer.

Check your throttle control valve vaccum hose. It may be cracked or come off the connection.

My hose was cracked and the cruise control did not engage. Once the hose was replaced, cruise control works.

Your noise is considered an AC (alternating current) signal.

The capacitor would go from the +V to ground, not inline. Capacitors block DC and pass AC signals. Basically the capacitor will short the noise to ground.

You can put a choke in-line in the V+. Chokes pass DC and block AC. A choke will prevent the noise from getting to the radio.

Chief, I'm assuming the throttle control vacume hose is attached on or around the throttle body. There are several hoses in that area could you be more specific as to which one.
Kirby, thank you for that explanation but I didn't understand much of it. I am not electrically inclined. Anyway this choke you spoke of what is it and where do I get one? I am assuming the v+ is the wire going to the constant 12v+ source and not the switched wire. Thanks for all the help guys.

The throttle control valve is behind and below the throttle body. [drinking] It is the component below the throttle control switch which is on top of the throttle body. Assuming that you do not have an after cooler attached to the throttle body, disconnecting the air flow tubing and reaching under the throttle body intake you should be able to "feel" the vaccume hose i refer to. Thanks guys, chief I am going to pull my car into the garage tonight to try to find this tube and check it's condition.
Kirby, I have a radio shack just a few blocks from my house. On my next day off I am going in to get the part and try it out. Thanks again for the fast replies.
