Auto transmission problem???

I have a 1997 328i automatic. The car has about 68k on it and have had it since 62k. Today the car feels like it is shuttering in the back end when shifting from 1st to 2nd and from 2nd to 3rd. Not under light or heavy acceleration only from medium acceleration. I have not done a trans service yet ( no service light on). Having low trans oil would not cause this would it? Am I totally f'ed here with this trans or what is the deal? It almost feels like a ring and pinion shutter but when it shifts only so that rules out the R&P right?

with 68k on it you should see if someone did a 60k mile service on it. it should be done every 30k miles. i just did my 90k and the car feels brand new. it's an auto too by the way.

THanks, I am planning on doing that service on it if it hasn't been done yet. But would that fix a shuddering problem? Just trying to figure out if that service would fix it. I doubt anyone did it.
