well, for the last week i was hearing a grinding noise. it only did it during a right turn, and it wasnt that loud. then about two days ago, it did it on my way to work. but this time it was when i was moving straight, and it went away as i slowed to a stop. think its the bearing? I dont understand, because i havent heard it at all since i went to work the other day.

Get it on a lift, or 2 jacks, put it in gear and start listening, if that doesnt help get a stethoscope...

PS have the same problem... the right bearing went bad, ( worst then yours ) my mechanic said I can drive like this for another 4-6 months... but Im gonna have it replaced, the bearing is $60... but you`ll pay alot for labor cuz its a b*** to take apart... aprox 3-4h=200$

well that is cheaper than i thought for a bearing. cool, i shouldnt have a problem doing it. I am not a mechanic, but am well inclined. if i see anything too skew or difficult, i'll take it to the pro's. thanks.

ah I should have asked this question in the first place.. is the front or back bearing? If its the front one then you would have to buy the whole hub... I think thats $200... the rear one is $60

def get it looked at asap!! My right rear failed while I was going roughly 60mph on the highway @ like 2am. I lost control of the car and spun out, which shut engine car off. I started it back up after i got the car to a stop and I could barely get it to the side of the road. It cost me well over $600 cuz it ruined my caliper, rotor, pads, hub, and of course the bearing. I am also very lucky that it was wicked early in the mornig when it happened cuz i def would have hit another car. But w/ mine I had no warning signs it just went up. So just be careful and make sure you get it looked at. Oh yeah it also pulled the allignment out and messed up the tire, because evidently the wheel just locked so it put a flat spot on the tire. No one ever believes this but it is true........I never thought that just a bearing could cause so much damage either, but it did. And i have the recipts to prove it. Get it looked at.
