I'm looking at getting a BMW convertible 328 or 325 or even possibly even a 323, in the 1995-1998 timeframe. My question is this, what would be a good price to pay for one of these cars in very good-excellent condiction? And if I got a color that I didn't like how much should I expect to pay for a quality paint job? Would I be better off just waiting and possibly paying more for a color that I wanted? Thanks

That's a wide range, but you could expect to start around $10K or so, and up to maybe $17K. You could find them cheaper but not in vg/excellent condition.

If you want to come to Pennsylvania, there's a private seller '98 ///M3 convertible about 3 minutes from my house for $19K. I looked at it, didn't call (not in buying mode) but it looks in VG++ to excellent condition.

I do not know what specifically was offered in 97, but as I recall in 2003 - 2004 it was the heated seats, a ski bag and washers for the headlights.
