I am a new to owning a BMW. I have a 1999 BMW Z3, Boston Green and a silver 1999 M3.
I was hoping someone could tell me what's the easiest way to replace the BMW disc on the hood of my Z3? Or was I dumb and the service dept. should have done it when I bought the replacement part? Thanks in advance.

The "disc" is the BMW roundel. You can buy it from your dealer or a number of aftermarket suppliers, including www.bavauto.com

I believe you need two grommets to attach the Roundel. I think you simply remove the old one by using a screwdriver to pry it off, but you will want to use a rag or cloth to prevent the screwdriver from scratching the hood.

In Europe the BMW is producing many models with diesel alimentation.

The are signed with the d after the name.

There is the 320cd and the 330cd for the coupè model.

There are the 318d (115hp), 320d (150hp) and the 330d (204hp) for the touring and sedan model.

For the 5er we have the 520d, 530d and in some months there will be even the 535d.

In europe the diesel is becoming very fast, and the BMW have the fastest diesel models. About the 80% of BMW models are sold in diesel motorization.

That engines have a huge power.

This are the NM/g/min

318d= 280/1750
320d=330/2000
330d= 410/1500

for example... the 330i has 300/3500

Bye

Informative post. Thanks!

I was not very familiar with either the chassis or the engine labels. My last BMW was when I lived in Europe- 320i I think it was a 79 or 80.

I just took possesion of a 2004 545I - 4.4 V8 DOHC 32 valves Do I get it rigth that it is a E39.
As far as the engine? I do not see the despription of mine?

hello,
new here...
anyway, where do i start?
seriously you bmw owners must be on serious drugs to appreciate a marque that is as exciting as watching a duck cross the road... [:(]
friends tell me buy a bmw best car ever. yeah right! what a joke! its been 2 years of hell owning a 3 series. [thumbd]
within weeks of purchase i was bored with the looks, the drive, the style. (my god what have i purchased?) i traded the alfa 147 for the beemer and within days of driving the bmw i wanted the 147 back.
i have now traded the 3 series for an alfa 159 ti.
believe me the alfa is one hot beauty.
i cannot stop looking at the 159, those stunning front lights, amazing.
the interior is so sexy italian. (styling the german car manufacturers will never match.)
last but not least the drive is sooo bloody awesome i cannot stop smiling. [:p]
all i can say is get out of your follow the crowd, mundane cars, and test drive an alfa.
your sex life will improve too... [:D]
